Raw Poetics is a blog for sharing poetry and opinions. I hope to accomplish an insightful, artful mood. For me, this blog is about life, the insights I have that change my life, and the poetry I write to deal with life. It is about those things in life that are controversial, those things we are afraid to talk about it, but actually really need to. So far all of the posts and poetry are by yours truly, but I have already invited some friends/family to write posts, and all my readers are encouraged to write and submit poetry or opinion posts.
A good way to sum up this blog would be to copy a few things from my post "Why I Blog." So here it is:
Why I blog:
1. Because although I am embarrassed about my poetry, I have to share it. I HAVE to. I can't help it.
2. Because I hope that somehow I can make a difference to someone. I have read blog articles that really made a difference in my life, and in this world of abundant useless information, I hope to produce something that inspires thought and change and brings people happiness.
3. Because I love being able to talk about sensitive subjects. This blog is named "Raw Poetics" because I don't want to shy away from raw feelings and strong opinions. I often find it difficult to express my opinions and feelings correctly in conversations.I get overexcited when speaking and things don't come out quite right. When I write, I find it easier to present logic and emotions in a way that pleases me.
Why I hope you read and contribute to my blog:
1. Because I hope we can give each other the chance to easily share our emotions and opinions through poetry and posts. It can be a wonderful way to make meaningful connections with people we wouldn't otherwise have the opportunity to know, or to make deep connections with people we can't always spend time with. If you have poetry you want the world to see and respond to (you can be anonymous if you'd like) Please submit it! Check out the submissions tab on the home page. Please note that although the blog's subtitle specifies free form poetry, submissions do not have to be free form. That is just my personal preferred style. I admire all forms of poetry.
